Australian Made & Owned – what does that really mean?

At Bubba Organics it means just that! We are proud members of the Australian Made & Owned Campaign guaranteeing that all our products are made to the highest of Australian Standards, right here in Australia.

Bubba Organics is Animal Friendly – where do you test?

We never test our beautiful products on animals. Our range has been extensively tested on our families, friends & excited new mums in our local community looking for truly 100% natural skincare.  From babies & toddlers to teens, mums, dads and grandparents, our products have been used on rashes, flaky, dry, eczema-prone and extra sensitive skin, with amazing results and positive feedback.

Is the range of products recyclable?

Yes… at Bubba Organics we are conscious to tread-lightly & protect our environment.

We use only recyclable materials for all our bottles, brochures, point of sale material and packaging.

What is FSC & PEFC?

FSC: The Forest Stewardship Council is an international organisation promoting responsible forest management.

PEFC: is the Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes and is an international, non-profit organisation that is made up of representatives of the forest products industry.

We have worked hard to source & use local FSC & PEFC accredited suppliers to ensure all of our packaging is recyclable and our range is as earth-friendly as possible.

Are your products suitable for greywater systems?

At Bubba Organics the earth matters! Our baby skin care ingredients are natural & organic from nature, which are biodegradable & suitable for greywater use.

Many baby skincare companies use water as their base ingredient, what does Bubba Organics use?

Water is a filler when used in skincare, it’s a cheap option which is why you will find that almost all skincare companies use it as their main ingredient or the base for their products – did you know if it’s the first ingredient it can be as much as 80% of the total contents.

At Bubba Organics we promise you a high quality, premium and effective product. The main ingredient (which is the first ingredient on the back of the label ingredients list) occupies the most space in your bottle or tube, it’s vital it has an important role.  Aloe vera is our base ingredient because it has soothing, calming & healing properties, helping to moisturise, nourish & reduce skin irritations.

Are your ingredients ethically sourced and Fair Trade?

At Bubba Organics we love and respect the world we live in and have made it our priority to ensure all of our ingredients are locally sourced from reputable and ethical suppliers – as the Fair Trade certification is predominantly recognised in the food industry and has only just recently moved into the cosmetic industry, these suppliers don’t offer the fair trade certification for their cosmetic ingredients – but rather hold relevant industry certifications.

Is your Shea Butter refined or unrefined?

The shea butter we use is refined – in order to comply to EU cosmetic standards, which is the most recognised global cosmetic safety authority.

Do you use palm oil in your products?

No, Palm Oil is not used in Bubba Organics products.

What does the EU cosmetic standard mean?

The standards for consumer safety are governed by the European Union’s (EU) Cosmetics Regulation.  Cosmetic products and their ingredients are safe for consumers to use thanks to the industry’s dedication to safety and European Union (EU) Cosmetics Regulation’s requirement that cosmetics cause no damage to human health.
The overall objective of the cosmetics industry is to produce safe and effective products which meet the needs of consumers.

However the responsibilities of any industry go beyond the purely regulatory requirements. Society now expects companies to behave in a responsible and ethical manner. Such an approach is no longer optional; rather it is part of industry’s contract with society. The cosmetics industry also recognises these expectations, and strives to meet them in all its activities. As a result, the EU place a strong emphasis on ensuring ethical behaviour on social, corporate and environmental responsibility.

Why is the Baby Bottom Cream more expensive in the tube than it is in the bottle?

Our tube is a more expensive offering due to the packaging costs.  All our packaging is made here in Australia and as our baby bottom cream is a premium product, we have sourced the highest quality tube available. We have locally designed and made the product box to ensure the tube is protected in the retail environment, in addition to making this an ideal gift option.

What are the uses for each ingredient?

We’re glad you asked, we have a page on the website dedicated to letting you know exactly what you are putting on your precious bubba’s skin – See ingredients page.  It’s very important to us to be honest, upfront and transparent in all that we do and as our ingredients are ALL sourced from  Nature and of high quality we are proud to list them all for you to see, allowing you to make an informed choice.  We also list the ingredients we use in each product on the products page within the store, exacrtly as they would appear on the label.  We avoid only listing the  “active ingredients”  which is often used on skincare sites when they have something to hide.

Bubba Organics is known for no “hidden nasties”, what are free from products?

We promise that at Bubba Organics will always be Pure, Natural & Gentle, free from chemical nasties such as: Parabens, Petroleum, Sulphates (SLS), Mineral Oils, Synthetic Colours and Artificial fragrance.  We also omit known irritants such as Cocamidopropyl betaine and polysorbates.

What does Organic by Nature mean?

Organic describes things that are natural or related to nature. In common usage, organic is used to mean “healthful” or “close to nature.” It is also used to describe foods grown without artificial pesticides or fertilizers. Every ingredient in our range has been sourced from nature which is where our byline Pure, Natural, Organic by Nature comes from.

Is it safe to use baby wraps for swaddling my baby?

There are many ways to swaddle babies by using blankets or wraps specifically designed for/or intended for swaddling.

Bubba Organics Organic Baby Wraps are light, breathable, stretchy and super soft.  They have been knitted from GOTS certified 100% organic cotton yarn, grown without the use of any pesticides or toxic chemicals.   The versatile extra generous size of  100 x 120cm  is ideal for swaddling and also perfect for use in the bassinet, cot & pram.

However, we will always recommend that you visit the Royal Children’s Hospital information page here to learn about safe swaddling before wrapping your baby in any blanket or wrap.  It’s important that your baby is wrapped correctly to allow for healthy hip development.
