30 Mar INTRODUCING ESSENTIALS OILS INTO YOUR HOME
As we all become more aware of harmful toxic chemicals and are looking to eliminate them as much as we can, its great to know nature has some pretty powerful natural antibacterial essential oils to help keep the germs at bay and naturally assist in our households . When looking into the perfect essential oils for your needs its always best to purchase them from someone qualified who understands what can and cannot be used on pregnant and breast feeding Mothers and our precious bubs.
Here are some handy tips to use essential oils in the home everyday.
WASH AWAY THE GERMS
Disinfect your dish sponge with Lemon oil between uses and enjoy the clean, fresh smell.
Just add a couple of drops to some warm water, rinse and let dry.
Sometimes our smell is soo sensitive when we are pregnant or breast-feeding and don’t even get us started on the nesting madness. After cleaning out your fridge deodorise and freshen that mystery smell by simply wiping over with Lemongrass, Lime, or Bergamot,.
PAINT ODOUR…. BE GONE!
It’s often the way that we want our precious babies nursery painted just before they arrive, so to help reduce that toxic paint smell just add 10ml of Peppermint oil to a can of fresh paint and stir in well.
NATURAL ROOM SPRAYS
Gone are the days where our mums used to blast the toxic air freshener spray throughout the house, we are much more aware of what we ingest into our lungs now. So if you are looking for a beautiful and safe option try one of our pure, natural, organic by nature room sprays.
Our relaxing Lavender & Chamomile Baby Room Spray will help with soothing & comforting your baby at bedtime. The naturally calming organic ingredients will freshen bubba’s room while assisting with a peaceful & happy sleep.
Another option if you are looking to deodorise is our very popular Eucalyptus & Melaleuca Baby Room Spray this will naturally freshen the nursery with its sweet & slightly fruity scent. The natural antibacterial properties of Eucalyptus & Melaleuca will also help bubba to breathe easy while working to keep the germs at bay.
HEALTHY MUM, HEALTHY BUB
We all know the saying healthy Mum healthy bub, so if you’re feeling like you might be on the onset of a cold or feeling a little run down, try rubbing Oregano essential oil and fractionated coconut oil on the bottoms of your feet before bedtime, this is a popular use to help boost your immune system.
Diffusing is such a fantastic way to introduce essential oils into your home and a simple process for new mums as you can set the diffuser up and safely let the oils work their beautiful magic, while you tend to your little one.
Also perfect for helping with stuffy noses and relaxing bubba (and you) for sleep.
INFUSE THE SHOES
Smelly shoes… yes you are not alone, if its not hubby’s shoes its the teenagers with their school and sport shoes. To help save the day just add a few drops of Geranium, Basil, or Lavender oil into the shoe bed.
Other tips to keep in mind…
DON’T SKIMP ON QUALITY
Try and avoid anything that refers to itself as a fragrance oil, it’s best to spend a little bit more on the quality therapeutic grade essential oils, as you and your family will benefit more out of them.
DOUBLE CHECK YOUR DOSES
Around new bubba’s always be careful to watch the dose as new nasal passages are allot more sensitive to ours. Keep to this basic rule of thumb and always urge caution and under dose rather than over for your newborn… only one drop is required to two teaspoons of water in a diffuser, or in two tablespoons of oil for a massage.
